In this episode of the Mitchell Institute Conversations podcast series, Professor Richard English speaks with Dr Cheryl Lawther about her research in transitional justice, dealing with the past, truth recovery and victims of conflict as well as her upcoming research. Dr Lawther is a senior lecturer in the School of Law at Queen’s University, ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ and is a Fellow of the Institute for Global peace, Security and Justice.

Dr Cheryl Lawther

My work focuses on the field of transitional justice. I am particularly interested in the areas of truth recovery, dealing with the past, victims, ex-combatants, reparations, emotions and dark tourism. I have conducted comparative research on these themes in a range of international sites. I am also interested in a wide range of topics relating to the Northern Ireland conflict and peace process.
